BIG DRILLING TASKS DEMAND A BIG DRILL - REISEN’S FLAGSHIP MODEL, THE DMMAG100ST

The biggest model in Reisen’s standard range has already proven itself to be a popular machine in New Zealand, in fact it’s been hard to ensure we have enough in stock to meet the demand.

Why is this beast of a drill such a desirable model here in New Zealand? Click on the titles below for details.

Capacity: Well, there aren’t many machines out there with a 100mm cutter capacity and we don’t know of another that isn’t using the old style of dovetail slide.

Although the dovetail system has been around forever, its inherent flaws have finally been solved by Reisen’s patented twin-rail slide system, giving improved articulation and accuracy and, importantly, avoiding the tendency of dovetails to develop stress cracking in the sharp corners so they stay accurate too.

While the 100mm diameter cutter capacity is impressive, its practicality becomes more obvious when you add the enormous 250mm depth available. If you can't quite visualise what this means, this image shows how that compares to something everyday - it's considerably bigger than two cans of baked beans (or any other vegetable!).

Add the impressive 295mm of stroke available and you can see how this machine can make easy work of the bigger jobs.

But that’s not the only reason to buy the Reisen DMMAG100ST.

Quality: Unlike many machines, these blue marvels are not put together on an Asian assembly line with possibly questionable quality control, they’re made in the UK and use the well-respected Eibenstock motors from Germany.

The result is a machine that’s noticeably different, even from the first time you handle the well finished, heavy cast body. Robust and substantial, with well laid out controls and handles, it’s a workhorse that inspires confidence every time you come to use it.

Practicality: The Reisen mag drill range was designed from the outset to address the handling, productivity & durability issues common in typical machines from a range of competitors and the flagship model incorporates a number of significant design advantages, including:

  • A swivel/shift base avoids the need for time-consuming positioning of this big machine while allowing precision drilling accuracy with 360 degrees of rotation and 22mm of travel over the magnet;
  • Tapping capacity from 6 to 30mm, reversible with full variable speed control. Twist drilling capacity up to 32mm diameter and also capable of countersinking to 55mm;
  • 1800 watt Eibenstock motor for the power and reliability you need to get the jobs done that smaller or less substantial machines can’t handle.

Summary:

There can’t be many occasions that would involve more that the Reisen 100ST can handle. With capacity to handle cutters up to 100mm diameter and a huge 250mm depth, all combined with a stroke of almost 300mm, it really is a bit of a beast.

But there’s also beauty in the design and build, just like all Reisen models (see the full range HERE). The build quality is something you can feel from the first touch. It’s made to comply with strict EU safety standards and specified to meet the demands of European markets, where longevity and durability are expected as standard.

The DMMAG100ST may be something of a specialist at the higher end of the capacity range for mag drills, but it’s made with the same uncompromised design & manufacturing philosophy that allows Reisen to stand out from the crowd in a highly competitive machine market.
